Drip, Drip, Drip...

Suddenly, it's time for the last blog I need to write for the Ikea liveLAGOM project - hasn't time flown!  I've been sat here thinking about how the project has affected me and trying desperately to think of some great headline saving or major life-altering flash-bang-wallop moment, but it occurred to me there isn't one.  Have I failed at what this was all about?  Should I have taken on something a bit more worthy than creating a sewing space??!  *Calm down Claire*  When I stopped trying to find the one 'big bang', I started to see how many small things have changed in how I live and how I think about things.  And, all these little things are starting to add up - like a dripping tap, at first it seems like nothing but then you put a glass under it and it fills that, then a saucepan, then a bucket, then you realise it could fill the ocean, eventually...a bit dramatic perhaps, but drip, drip, drip... Hello again!  So this post is a little later than I wanted it to be, but to be honest – some of those things I talked about being scared of happening last time, well they happened.   I won’t dwell on it, but let’s just say it’s all been a bit rubbish **massive understatement** and life has changed again. **Deep breath**  But back to the project, I’m sure you’re gagging to know what’s been going on.  After deciding on my New Year resolution to get organised, declutter and set up my sewing room, excitingly, at the end of last year I had my personal shopping session with the lovely David, our #liveLAGOM leader, and it was pretty good!  I wanted to buy things to help get, and keep, my sewing room organised but as is my usual style, not really thought about it until I rocked up for the session.  David steered me through the sweet shop that is Ikea (ooh, I could get that, and what about that, hold on – I’ve just seen this, oh and that would be perfect, ...

It all starts here!

Ha ha!).   It might be a drawer in your kitchen, a cupboard in the spare room or even the spare room itself!   You’re probably asking what this has got to do with anything – good question, I’ll try and explain. A bit earlier this year, I saw an email from Ikea inviting people to apply for the #liveLAGOM project.   I read the blurb, sounded interesting and had a philosophy I liked, so I thought “why not?”, bashed out an application, then lost all hope of ever hearing about it again.   Then out of the blue, I got an email saying I’d been successful.   To quote Wallace & Gromit, cracking! I went along to the induction, dreading that they’d ask me to talk a...
